IAS' yearly Sales Kick Off event (SKO) is a 3-day marathon of training, workshops and networking with the goal of aligning the global sales and marketing teams for the year. I was tasked with creating the event identity and bringing it to life inside the event space, a large hotel in New York City.
I was given the tagline "Better Faster Stronger", which I developed into an Olympics theme. While the world was only just beginning to think about the upcoming 2020 Olympic games, the theme gave emphasis to the international nature of the company, whose global sales team had flown in from 12 countries to join their colleagues in New York.
I used a reduced version of the corporate color palette to evoke the national flags of most of the delegates present, and introduced a gold accent. Colin Anderson's stark, stylish photography takes a little of the testosterone out of the tagline.
I made the table centerpieces by hand out of embroidery hoops, scrap wood and gold spray paint. The numbers evoke classic scorecards and the rings are a consistent Olympian motif throughout the venue.
